Adopt-a-Ship

Adopt-A-Ship is an unparalleled opportunity for schools, organizations, and communities to be a U.S. Navy/OpSail 2012 Virginia® ambassador.  Each adopting group will have the chance to adopt a ship from the OpSail 2012 Virginia® fleet and act as “ambassador” for the arriving crew from August 2011 to June 2012.  Adopt-A-Ship is one of our hallmark programs and was developed to build long lasting friendships, extend the warmest hospitality, and further the education of the young people of Virginia.  This is the occasion to involve the community in hosting one of these magnificent ships and to be an integral part of this world-class event.
