Hosting and welcoming the many thousands of visitors that will visit the Eastern Shore in June is a tremendous opportunity for our community to reap significant economic benefits.

But it is also a costly event to put on.  We must pay substantial daily appearance fees to each of the tall ships that graces our harbor; fund our marketing efforts; pay entertainers, and compensate infrastructure providers, just to mention a few of the overhead costs.  While we have received a generous grant of seed money from Northampton County and Cape Charles has also provided both cash and in-kind, we need  sponsors to help defray our costs.

Being a sponsor presents an exceptional opportunity to promote your company, business or organization to the many thousands who will visit us here on the Eastern Shore.

In addition to the vast recognition your business will receive, there are also many special “perks” involved with being an Eastern Shore Tall Ships sponsor.   Some sample “perks” include specially made banners, VIP-area tickets, free admission tickets, your logo and ad in the festival brochure and much more. Details of each level of sponsorship are outlined below.

Be part of it!   Here is a list of sponsorship opportunities.  If you are interested in helping to sponsor this historic occasion, please download our Pledge Card.

Adopt-A-Ship is an unparalleled opportunity for schools, organizations, and communities to be a U.S. Navy/OpSail 2012 Virginia™ ambassador.  Each adopting group will have the chance to adopt a ship from the OpSail 2012 Virginia™ fleet and act as “ambassador” for the arriving crew from August 2011 to June 2012.  Adopt-A-Ship is one of our hallmark programs and was developed to build long lasting friendships, extend the warmest hospitality, and further the education of the young people of Virginia.  This is the occasion to involve the community in hosting one of these magnificent ships and to be an integral part of this world-class event.
