The Municipal Corporation of Cape Charles Harbor ably hosts a unique mix of commercial, industrial, and recreational vessels in its protective basin boasting 51 fixed pier slips and 44 floating slips with a total of 130 including T-Heads and dockside space, with the ability to host up to 175 feet in length and a maximum draft of 18 feet. Whether for work or play, patrons enjoy access to the Chesapeake Bay.
We also celebrate our history with a warm welcome to the historic community’s Tall Ships, Chesapeake Bay Buy Boats and Skip Jacks.
Visitors can watch Watermen haul in and off-load their daily catches of Blue Crabs, Horse Shoe Crabs, Conchs, Fish, Clams, Shark, and Scallops. The Harbor’s state-of-the-art public boat ramps are enjoyed by both individual pleasure and sport fishing crafts as well as charter fishing boats.
This one-of-a-kind, non-segregated facility continues the Town’s tradition of a vibrant transportation industry, which visitors can observe from ahore or aboard their vessel. The Harbor is vital to several local companies which utilize the large dock space and deepwater draft to bring their product via tug and barge to and from the Eastern Shore.
Patrons value the Cape Charles Harbor for its clean, well-maintained facilities and knowledgeable staff, its proximity to the charms of Cape Charles, and its singular character as a hub of commerce, sport, and pleasure.
We have been designated a “VIRGINIA CLEAN MARINA”.
